Why sign Jira issues with Adobe Sign?

We’ll take you through the process of signing off using Adobe Sign, one of the leading eSignature apps on the market.
Step 1: Getting Started with Adobe Sign
Like many apps, Adobe Sign lets you try before you buy. You can experiment with it by starting a seven day free trial on their website.
Step 2: Creating an Account
Using any Adobe product requires creating an Adobe account. To begin your membership, you’ll need to provide your name and email address. Next, a backup email address in case you find yourself locked out.
Step 3: Exporting the Issue
Adobe Sign, much like it’s competitor DocuSign, isn’t naturally compatible with Jira Cloud. So before you can sign Jira issues, you’ll have to export the issue as a word document. Fortunately, this is simple enough.
Step 4: Preparing the email
When you log in to Adobe, go to ‘Send’ and begin the sending process. The issue document is sent as an email attachment. You must attach the document and list the email addresses of the signatories. This is also your opportunity to select their roles in signing the document. That could be signer, approver, certified receiver, acceptor, form filler or delegator.
Step 5: Security
In order to protect your issue you may add a unique password for security. This password may be unique to each signatory. You may also select how long they have to sign and how often they receive reminders.
Step 6: Preparing the signature fields
Once the email’s ready, ensure your document is saved as a PDF. Adobe only signs PDFs, not word documents. Once its converted, place the signature fields on the pdf. Such fields include space for signatures, date fields, email addresses, companies, and titles.
Step 7: Additional fields
At this stage you also have the option of adding additional fields. Such fields could be text fields, drop downs, radio buttons, and tick boxes. You can even add an image field if you require the signer to upload an image, such as a photo of themselves.
Step 8: Receiving and signing
Once you’ve received the signable pdf, you have a number of options regarding how you sign it. You can choose to type your name into the field, write your name with cursor or trackpad. You could also send an SMS to your mobile phone. This lets you hand draw your signature using your phone’s touchscreen. You can even upload an image, such as a photo of your handwritten signature. Once the signature and the relevant data fields have been filled out, you only need to click the ‘Sign’ button and all shall be taken care of.
